Lufthansa was the inaugural customer for the Boeing 707-420, a variant of the 707 powered by Rolls-Royce Conway 508 turbofan engines, marking its entry into the era of jet travel. In April 1956, Lufthansa ordered four 707-420s, with the first aircraft delivered on February 25, 1960, after its maiden flight on December 18, 1959. The aircraft landed in Hamburg-Fuhlsbüttel on March 2, 1960, and entered scheduled service on March 17, 1960. Lufthansa operated a total of six 707-420s (D-ABOB to D-ABOG) between 1960 and 1977. "Cut then Add" offers a silkscreen decal in 1/144 scale for your Airfix, FROG, Minicraft, and NOVO 707-4XX kit, featuring Lufthansa's distinctive livery on D-ABOG.
